The ORIGINAL Scoot Hard by Waffle Iron Studios

Yeah, so, funny story: while replaying Scoot Hard DX, I randomly stumbled upon the ORIGINAL Wolfenstein mod, Scoot Hard. I myself thought it was lost to time, but it's here, rough edges and all.
There is very little information about the game out there, without even a trailer to speak off. The only real source for this game is a short (and innacurate) page on the Wolfenstein Fandom Wiki about it, which is how I stumbled onto it.
Originally released in 2012 as a beta. (hoo boy!) It received a handful of revisions until late 2017, accumulating to a 3 episode experience which is even more brutal than its successor. (Do NOT play this game on the hardest difficulty. It is NOT fun.)
Wolfenstein enjoyers will surely get a knack out of it, but casual players who have little to no experience with the classic Wolfenstein games should:
  1. Move their ego aside and play on one of the easier difficulties.
  2. Watch a playthrough of it
  3. or...
  4. Just play the successor...
The game is a product of its time, and while a lot of the charm is still there — high-resolution cartoony graphics, silly enemy one-liners and high quality music and sound design — the game is limited by being a Wolfenstein mod, requiring you to learn keyboard-only controls for a first-person shooter, which will throw you off for a good bit. For historical reasons it should be known and documented, because the pristine gem that is Scoot Hard DX might not have been born without it, but if you want to experience the definite interactive story of Scootaloo running and gunning her way through the Rainbow Factory, just play Scoot Hard DX.
This post was originally going to be a round-up including other Wolfenstein mods suggested by readers, but in the process of playing them I concluded that they're not worth the dedicated mention.
For archival reasons, however...
Autumn's Adventure by AdamMasterArt is a Wolfenstein mod starring Autumn, an Alicorn who was kidnapped by Lord Tirek and locked up in a cell underneath the castle of the two sisters with her powers taken away from her. It is only a short demo half-hour with 3 levels, which you can watch on our channel if you'd prefer. The game was presumably never finished by the creator in favour of...
Twilight: Escape From Stalliongrad is the better known My Little Pony Wolfenstein mod by AdamMasterArt. Based on the episode "The Cutie Map", you play as Twilight having been imprisoned by Starlight Glimmer in the depths of Stalliongrad tasked to survive the living hell before you and rescuing your friends.
Why was this game not featured? Because within only the third level you will get seemingly softlocked as the only way to progress is to interact with a random wall which looks exactly like every other wall around it within a maze. I wanted to believe I was the stupid one, but after watching multiple other playthroughs of that same level, everyone was only able to proceed by sheer luck after clicking every wall. That is an instant 0/10 in my mind and not even worth more than a passing mention in the "Read More" section (how many of you all even click on this? Genuine question).
